education

why do kids learn shit they don’t need? the information overflow is way too much to handle already for the average kid.

i’m not talking about the stuff others find “useless” like literature, arts, history, geography, a good humanistic general education. i am talking about forcing kids to specialize before they actually have to make a decision for a career.

by the time they grow up they’ll have to work until 80 anyway. that’s good enough for 3-4 careers. why decide so soon?

pump more money into education and set a new goal: shape their character, make them ready for the world out there. there are no jobs anymore that last 50 years. there is a need for lifelong learning. put away the pressure.

we live in an information society, in the early years of a truly digital society. but i’m afraid the people in power still live in the 1950ies. wankers.
