cultural observations
so, i’ve been living in london for a while, and as such, you’re getting at least some exposure to different characters of different nationalities. not a big deal, you would say, but after a while you discover that there are differences. while you yourself apply to a more “diplomatic” approach in dealing with people, and find that behaviour that would be totally acceptable at home starts to come accross as “rude”, these are just the small things you start to notice. blimey.
but it’s also a window into people’s lives somehow. i’ve actively started to develop interest in cultural backgrounds and find it very interesting to have conversations about these. some people seem to be quite happy to share them, some keep more secretive about it.
lesson to learn though, i think london’s an absolutely fantastic place to develop intercultural sensibility skills. and if you know how to treat people the way they feel respected, you’re winning.
